Balam Huipil Remix Limited Edition Print

I created this serigraph in 2013, a 6 color 48"x 32" serigraph printed at Self Help Graphics & Art with Master Printer Joe Alpuche.  It is an edition of 55 prints. Each color was hand drawn onto film to create each screen.  I drew each line as if it were string to create this huipil. This piece was inspired by the huipiles of Meso America and my abuela. The symbols I created for this piece tell a story of grounding ourselves in nature and listening to ancient spiritual wisdoms. We are the spiritual warriors that can bring about peace and love to our communities, the symbols that are destroying our planet and communities around the world, are flanked by the nazar amulet for protection.  Each work is numbered, hand signed, and embossed with SHG's Print Studio chop mark.
